The Museum is located near the Place Garibaldi. It was designed by two architects, Yves Bayard and Henri Vidal, and is shaped as a tetrapod arch straddling the course of the Paillon. | ![]() The Gherkin In London"the Gherkin" is a skyscraper in London's main financial district, the City of London, completed in December 2003 and opened in April 2004. With 41 floors, the tower is 180 metres tall and stands on a street called St. Mary Axe, on the former site of the Baltic Exchange, which was extensively damaged in 1992 by the explosion of a bomb placed by the Provisional IRA. | ![]() Lotus Temple In Delhi IndiaThe Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India, is a Bahá'à House of Worship completed in 1986. Notable for its flowerlike shape, it serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent and has become a prominent attraction in the city. ![]() Raffles Dubai in Wafi CityRaffles Dubai is a 19-storey hotel that is built in the shape of a pyramid. The design was an inspiration taken from traditional Egyptian architecture. It is located at the Wafi food and entertainment complex, 15 minutes away from the Dubai International Airport. The hotel’s signature pyramid shape was conceived by architect Bryn Lummus and developed locally by lead architects Arif & Bin Toak. Construction began in April 2005 and the hotel began it's operations in 2007. | ![]() National Theatre in Beijing ChinaThe National Centre for the Performing Arts,best described as The Giant Egg, is an opera house in Beijing in China. The Centre, an ellipsoid dome of titanium and glass surrounded by an artificial lake, seats 5,452 people in three halls and is almost 12,000m² in size. It was designed by French architect Paul Andreu. Construction started in December 2001 and the inaugural concert was held in December 2007. | ![]() National Library Of Minsk In BelarusThe National Library of Belarus founded on 15 September 1922, is a copyright library of the Republic of Belarus. It houses the largest collection of Belarusian printed materials and the third largest collection of books in Russian. It is now located in a new 72-metre high building. The building has 22 floors and was completed in January 2006. The building can seat about 2,000 readers and features a 500-seat conference hall. |
