It is located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau and it is the capital of the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Bangalore is known as the "Garden City of India" because of its gentle climate, broad streets, greenery and the presence of many public parks, such as Lal Bagh and Cubbon Park.
Bangalore has a tropical savanna climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Due to its high elevation, Bangalore usually enjoys a more moderate climate throughout the year, although occasional heat waves can make summer somewhat uncomfortable.
Bangalore is also known as the "Silicon Valley of India" because of its role as the nation's leading information technology exporter. Big companies like Volvo , HP , HSBC and many more have their Headquartes in the Bangane tech park.
For many years, Bangalore was known throughout India as the most green, liberal and forward-thinking city. In recent years, these attributes have propelled Bangalore to the forefront of the high-tech industry boom in India, and it currently ranks as India's most developed city and one of the world's fastest growing urban areas.
