On April 23 is the world's book day and since i enjoy to read a lot i decide to write about something different. I'm not going to tell you about a place for going on vacations. I 'm going to write about the Biggest library in the world!!!

The library is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. It is located on the north side of Euston Road in St Pancras between Euston railway station and St Pancras railway station.

British library in London has around 14 millions books!!! As a legal deposit library, the British Library receives copies of all books produced in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including a significant proportion of overseas titles distributed in the UK. The British Library adds some three million items every year occupying 9.6 klm of new shelf space.

Some Highlights selected by the British Library include:

  • The Diamond Sutra, the world's earliest dated printed book printed in 868 during the Tang Dynasty.

  • The Codex Sinaiticus, the major portion of the world's second-oldest manuscript of the Bible in koine Greek from the 4th centure, a priceless treasure.

  • Two copies of Magna Carta from 1215.

  • The Codex Arundel, one of Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks.
