One of the countries i would like to visit and actually stay there, as mush as possible, is India. I love ,first of all, their culture and their architecture. Many famous landmarks are located there such as the Taj Mahal , but in today's post we will learn for a great temple.
Harmandir Sahib usually knowed as "The Golden Temple" is located in the city of Amritsar.
Guru Arjan Sahib, the Fifth Sikh Guru, conceived the idea of creating a central place of worship for the Sikhs and he himself designed the architecture of Sri Harmandir Sahib.
The construction started in december of 1585 and finished in August of 1604. There are four doors to get into the Harmandir Sahib, which symbolize the openness of the Sikhs towards all people and religions.
This unique temple of God has been built at the lowest level because it represents the humility of Guru Nanak.
One of the most important festivals is Vaisakhi, which is celebrated in the second week of April. Sikhs celebrate the founding of the Khalsa on this day and it is celebrated with fervour in the Harmandir Sahib.
